** This review contains spoilers **
This book was definitely not like the previous Harry Potter books, but that was expected, firstly because it is in play format, secondly because it is shorter (much) and thirdly because it is coauthored and there is a significant difference in the depth of the characters and plot intricacy in this book compared to the original series.
This book is much less deep I believe because there isn’t as much time to explore the personalities of the new characters, but I also believe that the old characters have in some way been reduced to charicatures of their former selves.
The redeeming quality was the idea that being in Slytherin is not so bad after all.
I am glad that the whole idea of time travel didn’t result in a change that put Albus in Gryffindor, and I liked the message that that sent.
