Hello, my name is Waleed El-Geresy. I am researcher who loves writing, about the world, the self, and the mysteries of human nature. I find writing to be a magnificent outlet for expression. This is a space where I share the things I think about, hoping that they might be of interest to others.
My writing is fully hand-crafted, because writing is an art that allows humans to express themselves and we need to preserve its human aspects. The most technical tool I use is a basic spellchecker (and sometimes not even that). That is to say – as a general principle – I refuse to make use of AI language models to generate or curate my written content. This isn’t a claim of grandeur – it’s just a respect for the art of writing, something that I take pleasure in, and that I am happy to suffer the inconvenience of because it gives my life meaning.
